It is important to know at any age!

On July 20, 1969, during one of the defining moments of the human history, Neil Armstrong became the first man to step on the surface of Earth's Moon. In his own words, it was truly "one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind."

and here is another

The Waving Flag. According to this argument, frequently cited by the people who think that the moon landings were nothing more but a hoax, is that the star-spangled banner of the United States of America seemed to wave and flutter as Neil Armstrong planted it to the ground. This wouldn't have been much of an issue except for the fact that there is virtually no atmosphere on the moon, and therefore no wind whatsoever to have such an effect on any flag.

and finally

When these photos were taken, it was full daylight on the Moon. Because there is only an extremely thin atmosphere on the Moon, the sky appears black. In addition, sunlight at the Moon's surface was incomparably strong with the starlight; the stars simply faded in comparison with the sun. If the astronauts used sufficiently long exposures, stars would, indeed, be visible.

Other facts:

Jupiter, the largest planet in our Solar System, also has the largest moon--Ganymede. A large number of Jovian moons sport highly elliptical orbits and also circle backwards--that is, opposite to the spin of their planet. Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune also sport such so-called irregular moons, that orbit far from their respective parent planets.

Titan possesses a smooth, young surface, scarred by comparatively few impact craters. The climate of this frigid moon--including its fierce winds and showers of hydrocarbon rain--carves out surface features that bear an eerie resemblance to those on Earth, such as lakes, sand dunes, rivers, seas, and deltas. Indeed, planetary scientists propose that Titan bears a haunting resemblance to Earth, and is believed to be similar to the way our planet was before life had a chance to evolve out of non-living substances (prebiotic).

NASA's Galileo spacecraft imaged Europa during a flyby on September 7, 1996. In fact, so far there have only been flyby missions to this fascinating object. Galileo viewed Europa's surface much more closely than the Pioneers and Voyagers, and it revealed to astronomers a bizarre surface that looked like broken glass, repaired by an icy glue oozing up from below.
