It is important to know at any age!

Over the years, several theories have been proposed to explain the mechanism involved in Triton's capture by Neptune. One theory suggests that Triton was snared in a three-body encounter. According to this scenario, Triton is the lone survivor of a binary Kuiper Belt Object (KBO) that had been fatally jostled during a destructive close encounter with Neptune.

and here is another

The movement of the moons in the Pluto-Charon system provides precious insights into the way planets orbiting in a binary stellar system--or double star system--might behave. "We are learning that chaos may be a common trait of binary systems. It might even have consequences for life on planets orbiting binary stars," Dr. Hamilton explained in the June 3, 2015 HST Press Release.

and finally

Dr. Alice Le Gall commented in the same JPL Press Release that "Before Cassini, we expected to find that Ligeia Mare would be mostly made up of ethane, which is produced in abundance in the atmosphere when sunlight breaks methane molecules apart. Instead, this sea is predominantly made of pure methane." Dr. Le Gall, a Cassini radar team associate, is of the French research laboratory LATMOS, in Paris, and lead author of the new study.

Other facts:

Our Moon makes a complete orbit around Earth in 27 Earth days and it rotates (spins) at that same rate--meaning, in that same amount of time. Because our planet is also moving--rotating on its axis as it circles our Star--from our viewpoint, our lunar companion appears to circle us ever 29 days.

The crust of Earth's Moon is 43 miles thick on the near-side hemisphere, and 93 miles on the far-side. It is composed of silicon, magnesium, oxygen, calcium, aluminum, and iron. There are also trace amounts of titanium, uranium, thorium, hydrogen, and potassium.

Icy moons and tumbling, gleaming moonlets dance around within the lovely and very famous rings of the gas-giant planet Saturn. A study released in November 2012 now suggests that most of the moons inhabiting our own Solar System were born from ancient, primordial Saturn-like ring systems that swirled around newborn planets circling the young Sun. According to this study, most of our Solar System's regular satellites--which are those moons that lovingly embrace their parent planets in approximately equatorial orbits--formed in this way. In contrast, the most popular theory explaining moon-formation, suggests that moons emerged simultaneously with their parent planets, as a direct consequence of planetary formation.
