During the ancient days, humans were not very informative, having little or zero knowledge about their surrounding occurrences, including the moon influence into human's lives. They thought that the lunar force originating from the moon is strong but in fact it is just a minor tidal pull. Scientific studies have proven that a child in the mother's embrace will exert twelve million times as much of tidal force compared to the moon. However the old conventional mentality has not been completely wiped off as some people still hold onto the belief that the moon's lunatic haul is capable of causing earthquakes, which is rather absurd from the view of the science facts. As a matter of fact, none of the objects - the Sun or moon has the capability of pushing powerful forces onto the Earth.

Triton is unique among our Solar System's moons of planetary mass. This is because its orbit is retrograde to Neptune's rotation and inclined relative to Neptune's equator. This suggests that Triton was not born in orbit around Neptune, but was instead snared by the giant planet.
Looking inward from Triton, there are seven regular moons, all of which display prograde orbits in planes that are situated close to Neptune's equitorial plane, and some of these small moons orbit within Neptune's rings. It is thought that these seven small moons were re-accreted from the rubble ring that formed after Neptune snared Triton. This would have occurred some time after Triton's orbit had become circular. In addition, Neptune is circled by six more outer irregular moons other than Triton, including Nereid, whose orbits are considerably farther from Neptune and at high inclination: A trio of these moons sport prograde orbits, while the remainder have retrograde orbits. Indeed, Nereid has an unusually close and eccentric orbit for an irregular moon. This suggests that Nereid may have once been a regular moon that was badly disturbed and nudged into its current position when Triton was snared by Neptune's gravity. The duo of outermost Neptunian irregular moons, Psamathe and Neso, have the largest orbits of any natural satellites known in our Solar System to date.

Dr. Lieber and his colleagues did a study to test the theory of full-moon "lunacy". They studied data on murders in Dade County of Florida which covered 15 years and a total of 1,887 deaths by homicide. When they compared the deaths with the phases of the moon, they found that the two rose and fell together for the entire 15 years! With the approach of a full or new moon, there was a sharp spike in the murder rate, and then a decline during the first and last quarters of the moon.
Icy moons and tumbling, gleaming moonlets dance around within the lovely and very famous rings of the gas-giant planet Saturn. A study released in November 2012 now suggests that most of the moons inhabiting our own Solar System were born from ancient, primordial Saturn-like ring systems that swirled around newborn planets circling the young Sun. According to this study, most of our Solar System's regular satellites--which are those moons that lovingly embrace their parent planets in approximately equatorial orbits--formed in this way. In contrast, the most popular theory explaining moon-formation, suggests that moons emerged simultaneously with their parent planets, as a direct consequence of planetary formation.
"I think the best thing about this work is that they explain this link between the mass of the moon and the orbital distance, which was known before but not understood," said planetary scientist, Dr. David Nesvorny, in the November 29, 2012 Scientific American. Dr. Nesvorny, of the Southwest Research Institute in Boulder, Colorado, who did not contribute to the new research, added that "If you had asked me a few years ago, I would think of our Moon's formation and the formation of the satellites of the outer planets differently. This puts things on common ground."
